The name of the neighborhood comes from the Holy Cross Catholic Church and School. The Holy Cross neighborhood is one of the very first areas settled in Indianapolis in 1819. Holy Cross is defined by Michigan Street on the north, Washington Street on the south, I-65 on the west, and State Street on the east. The campus of Arsenal Technical High School, home of the Chase Near Eastside Legacy Center, is on the northern border of Holy Cross.
This neighborhood has some of the best un obstructive views of the Indianapolis skyline. Along with it’s close proximity to Mass Ave., it’s become a desirable area to live. Highland Park is located in the heart of Holy Cross. A popular brewer Flat 12 and Good the Smoke house are within the community.
