Butler-Tarkington borders Meridian-Kessler to the east and includes the stately homes on the west of Meridian. Originally a farming settlement in the in the mid-1800’s, developers built out the community shortly after WWII. The area is best known today for Butler University. This area takes on the name of both the university and famous writer Booth Tarkington. The area is best known for its attractive residential architecture, curb appeal & sidewalks.

Butler-Tarkington is home to the famous Hinkle Fieldhouse where the Butler Bulldogs play basketball and also famously depicted in the movie Hoosiers.  The Fieldhouse is the model for Banker’s Life Fieldhouse, the downtown home to the Indiana Pacers.

On the northern border of Butler-Tarkington you’ll find shops, dining and grocery stores. It’s a small community that loves to support their Butler Bulldogs.
