Nora once a far northern suburb of Indianapolis saw growth during the late 50’s as developers saw an opportunity as residences of Indianapolis were looking to expand north. There are no distinct borders. Generally the area runs from 96th to Broad Ripple and White River to the east and Township Line Road to the west. The area is best descried as a suburban community before the city expanded into the area. The community grew as the school system, North Central, was known for its academics.
Nora has evolved recently with the Monon Trail running N-S thru the area. The area has lots of restaurants, grocery stores and amenities within the community. Neighborhoods in this area are well established and generally have larger yards and majestic trees.
